"The World Reformation Exhibition welcomes you from the 20th of May until the 10th of September to Wittenberg. The open-air exhibition is under the heading ‘Gates of Freedom’ – symbolizing the gates pushed open by the Reformation. Just like Martin Luther in 1517 challenged the circumstances of his time, in 2017 we will discuss the present: spirituality, youth, justice, peace & integrity of creation, globalization I one world, ecumenism & religion and culture. These topics are grouped into seven gate areas, creating both thematic and spatial orientation. Installations, designed by students from different universities in Germany and Austria invite you into each gate area to discover and reflect on each topic.
The exhibition includes more than 80 national and international exhibitors: Various institutions and organizations, churches from all over the world, initiatives, and many cultural workers offer different perspectives on important current issues. Explore everything that’s going on, from concerts and workshops to church services, panel discussions and so much more. Sixteen topic weeks with headings like Media or Human Rights offer weekly focal points.
Included in the app is an audio guide spoken by Ian Dickinson, which helps you to find your way around Wittenberg. You are furthermore welcome to use the incorporated map showing the main features of the town as well as the exhibition.
Over the course of 16 weeks the World Reformation Exhibition, opened Wednesday-Monday, offers you a wide range of exciting, original and sometimes even surprising events: at the place where it all began 500 years ago."
